What is it and do People actually make a living from it?

In recent years after suffering incredible losses in the market, a large segment of the population approaching retirement age have turned to online marketing as a possible solution.

In turn a reponse to this desire to learn, a new market dedicated to feed that market has sprung into existance. The number of products is rather amazing but it is a direct result of this hunger.

Selecting the Right Networks to Work With

This is one of the most critical deciding factors in affiliate marketing and for many who start out by reading blogs or fourms on the topic ,fall prey to what is called doughnut marketing. (see the "Bargain or Trash " article to learn more)

In essence, this segment of affiliate marketing is devoted to selling to those who are trying to learn the basics. The product sales pages are very easy to spot and usually promise the neophite quick and easy solutions to .. marketing problems such as creating a web site or driving traffic, or auto blogging etc . They usually use the same format and along with "proofs of income" use such emotion grabbers as " Instant, overnight, magic, auto,sucess."

My advice : To avoid falling into this very enticing but expensive learning curve, invest in a course with an accredited University or local college.

One online University that offers a course is the University of San Fancisco  

For those who are unable to find or afford any course the path will be more difficult but not impossible. The basic process is fairly simple

In a nutshell  :

1. Look for a product that fits in with your interests and your business theme 
2. Create a web page for it 
3. Find a host to host their web page 
4. Publish it and drive traffic to it 
5. Capture emails to create a list to promote other products with an autoresponder - (get yours for free here... Free AutoResponder)

For those just starting out, avoid the "Make Money" and "Traffic"  products (with the exception of my recommended product on that of course )

Every product in product section was created by a marketer that started out exactly the same way you are in the process of doing now...

They gathered information on what people were looking for, then created products that people are hungry for ... (dont forget what you learned about doughnut marketing) then created products targeted to that market.
